Smartphone maker Sony has launched two new smartphones under Xperia flagship series – Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact at Mobile World Congress, 2018 at Barcelona, Spain. Both the smartphones are IP65/IP68 certified and will available in Liquid Silver, Liquid Black, Deep Green and Ash Pink colour variants. Both the smartphones come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and a metal frame at the back.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and run on Android O out-of-the-box. Both the handsets will be available in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, expandable upto 400GB via microSD card. The handsets feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The interesting part that we have found is that the absence of dual camera setup. But, the company claims that the new image processors can capture images in extremely dark conditions ISO sensitivity 51200 for photos and ISO 12800 for video which is currently only possible with inter-changeable lens cameras.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 features a 5.8-inch display and packs a 3,180mAh battery. The Xperia XZ2 Compact sport a 5-inch display and 2,870mAh battery. Both the handsets include support for Fast Charging and the Xperia XZ2 also supports Wireless charging.
Other features include – 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, DLNA, WiFi, GPS and NFC. There’s no word on pricing and availability.
