So, we have completed week 5 and have stepped into week 6 of this wonderful journey. It’s been an exciting week so far. So much of travelling…virtual tours…we are exploring Incredible India by sitting in our drawing room. I would like to thank the hosts and the participants for keeping the josh high! I am sure you guys will keep it high till the last station.
Midweek – the #XploreBharat Express reached a special place. The place is strongly connected with Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Yes, it’s Shantiniketan. From freezing Manali, the train reached the warm Shantiniketan, the place where Tagore himself lived and the place of the renowned Vishwa Bharati University. The next day, the train moved southwards and reached a UNESCO World Heritage site – Ajanta and Ellora in Maharashtra. We saw some magnificent sculptures – the artists craved them rocks. Some of them were carved from a single rock.
The next day, the #XploreBharat Express moved towards the Karnataka border and reached a place called Sangli in Maharashtra. The place is known as the turmeric city of India. It is located in the lap of Mother Nature. The place is filled with lush greenery with fresh breeze refreshing your mind and soul. On Saturday, the train started moving northwards and reached a town located at the foothills of mesmerizing Himalayas. We visited Rishikesh, Uttarakhand -this town is the prominent hub for studying Yoga and Meditation.
On Super Sunday, the #XploreBharat Express visited a beautiful place in North East – Aizwal. The beauty of ‘Magnificient NorthEast’ was beautifully captured in the post. We enjoyed the picturesque sunrise and the scenic beauty of the place. In the second part of the day, we reached Amritsar, and there we enjoyed the thrilling atmosphere at the Attari Border during the Beating Retreat ceremony.
So, this way the weekly roundup of week 5. See you again…Next week with the weekly roundup of week 6. Happy Blogging and Happy Travelling!
