The Blogger’s Mann Ki Baat

When the entire world was busy celebrating the festival of love – Valentines’ Day, the dastardly attack anguished the nation. I was shattered when I got to know about the terror attack in Pulwama, Kashmir. 49 CRPF personnel martyred. Salute to the martyrs. May the injured recover quickly.

mann-ki-baat

In this weekend, for #WOW, I have decided to write an open letter to our soldiers. I strongly believe that there’s no vocabulary in any language, will let me express my gratitude and pride for them. Still, I will try my best to write my Mann Ki Baat.

Dear Soldier of the Indian Armed Forces,

Thank You! Thank you for your immense service and sacrifice. We are able to sleep peacefully at night because you are out there, protecting our border, far away from your home and your loved ones, risking your lives…while we are busy with our normal life, enjoying our lives with our loved ones, celebrating precious moments, without any fear. It is…You, who made it possible for us. A big salute to you for that!

“How can a man die better, than facing fearful odds. For the ashes of his fathers, And the temple of his Gods.” – Siachen War Memorial

You are protecting us unconditionally. The countless sacrifices you make cannot be measured. When we celebrate any festival with our loved ones, you are protecting the borders, so that the nation remains safe and we can celebrate the festivals without any fear.

I shall also take this opportunity to apologise. I’m sorry on behalf of those people, who always question your actions, for their shrewd personal interests, while sitting in air-conditioned rooms.

“When you go home, tell them of us and say, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.” – Kohima War Memorial

You are an inspiration to us. You are the real heroes of society and the epitome of courage and patriotism. May God keep you and your family happy. We are always with you.

Jai Hind Ki Sena. Jai Hind.

Yours faithfully,

A patriotic Indian

#BlogToPM – Mann Ki Baat to PM

Hon’ble Prime Minister of India,

I was shattered when I got the news of Pulwama Terror attack. The nation lost 49 brave hearts. The entire country is angry and sad. I offer my condolences to the bereaved families of CRPF personnel and may their souls rest in peace. Nearly every alternate day we get the news of attacks on our security forces. These attacks are sponsored by terrorist organisation nurtured in Pakistan, who don’t want peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.

Why are we getting the news of attacks on our security forces every alternate day? Why India can’t completely neutralise these terror elements? The entire nation celebrated the surgical strike of 2016. Our forces had conducted another cross-border operation in 2015 where they received huge success. Our security forces are one of the world’s most peaceful, it has never initiated the first attack in any warfare.

Indian Army has contributed a lot to the UN peacekeeping mission. They took part in more than 40 peacekeeping missions. In the last few years, you have launched several initiatives for our soldiers and their families. Some of them – Bharat Ke Veer, Armed Forces Flag Week celebration and sandesh2soldiers. On October 21, 2018, you hoisted the National Flag and addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the formation of Azad Hind Government. On December 30, 2018, – you hoisted the National flag in Andamans – marking the 75th anniversary of the hoisting of the Tricolour by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. In a first, Veterans from Indian National Army took part in the Republic Day 2019 parade.

On the morning of 15th February, we were pleased to know about the actions initiated against Pakistan – diplomatically and financially. You have withdrawn the ‘Most Favoured Nation’ status from Pakistan. The entire world came together and condemned this barbaric act. You also announced that you have given a ‘free hand’ to the army to combat terrorism. I hope that more such actions are taken in the near future that makes the culprits regret every misdeed they did. Strong measures are required to do so. We have full faith in our soldiers and I am sure that this time the culprits will get punished.

The world without terrorism will be a better, safer and a happier place to live in. PradhanMantri’ji, we are with you in every action that you take to eradicate terrorism. Before I end, I have a small request for you. It would be great if the Surgical Strike of 2016 is included in the school’s history textbook. The heroic acts of our brave forces will inspire and motivate them to fight against the negative forces that exist in our society. It will help them to raise their voice against injustice.

Jai Hind ki Sena! Jai Hind!

Yours faithfully,

A concerned citizen
